What is Workplace Giving?
Workplace giving is a simple and effective way for you to regularly donate to TADNSW through automated payroll deductions. Your tax deductible pledge is sent directly to TADNSW each pay by your payroll office. TAD currently has four major workplace giving programs operating at Goldman Sachs JBWere, Deutsche Bank, Telstra and Freehills. Each of these companies is matching their employees donation dollar for dollar.
What’s in it for you?
By contributing through this payroll, pre-tax, programme your tax is calculated on your ‘net’ amount after the donation. This means you receive an immediate tax benefit from your wage. You are assured that your donation is received free of cost by TADNSW. This means we spend less money on receipting, postage, administration, fundraising and more on the work of TADNSW.
Workplace giving does not require a lot of time or effort from you.
Once you set up your contribution with your payroll office, you can choose the level of involvement. It is particularly handy for people who would like to contribute to the community but do not wish, or are unable, to take a more active role.
How does Workplace Giving help TADNSW?
Financial assistance is vital to the ongoing work of TADNSW. Workplace giving funding enables us to better plan activities, goals and budgets based on a regular flow of income at much lower administrative cost levels – a better alternative to expensive fundraising campaigns. This means greater community outcomes can be achieved.

What happens at tax time?
Your employer will keep a record of your donations across the year and provide you with a statement along with your group certificate for the amount you have donated.
In pre-tax workplace giving system you will have already received the tax benefit throughout the year for your donation. Therefore you only need to record the amount on your tax return, rather than keeping receipts and claiming for that amount. It’s an easy way to give!
TADNSW Fundraising Team is willing to address staff/management of your company contemplating introducing a regular workplace giving program. Call Fundraising (02) 9912 3405 or email fundraising for more information.
