TIG Welder

 

  • This is an important team position for TADNSW
  • Fabricates equipment for Clients of TADNSW
  • Create, build, be part of a team and work with Clients of TADNSW

 

Use your TIG welding and carpentry skills to make a real difference in the life of a person with a disability.


Working in your own workshop and as a small team with other Volunteers and Therapists to build equipment designed to meet the needs of children and adults with disabilities.

 

ESSENTIAL

-  Able to weld light metal sections (typically 1.4mm to 5 mm thickness) in mild steel and

stainless steel
-  TIG welding and basic carpentry and painting skills
-  Use relevant personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures
-  Demonstrated experience with TIG Welding
-  Excellent attention to detail
-  Good technical knowledge of the tools and machinery
-  Able to read drawings and technical plans
-  Dexterity and ability to perform physically demanding  tasks.
-  Current drivers licence
-  Good communication, customer service and people skills
-  Time management

 

DESIRABLE

-  Able to work in a small team including a Therapist, the Client and possibly another Volunteer
-  Skills associated with upholstering, metalwork and plastic

Courier/Driver

 

  • This is a vital team position for TADNSW
  • Ensures delivery of equipment and bikes to Clients and Volunteers
  • Join a small team, meet Clients and be the ‘face` of TADNSW

 

Being a member of this team ensures the delivery of constructed equipment , bikes and computers from TADNSW to Clients, and also the delivery of necessary materials to volunteers. 

An opportunity to join a small team who assist Staff, other Volunteers and Clients.

Be involved in one or more of:

• Deliveries and pickups in the Sydney metropolitan area
• Short trips to Wollongong and Newcastle
• Occasional trip to an outer region, eg Bathurst
• Assist with Freedom Wheels Bike Clinics

ESSENTIAL
• Available 1 to 2 days per month or more
• Current C Class Licence is all that is needed
• Good driving history
• Ability to drive a manual vehicle
• Comfortable in city traffic
• Experience driving a medium sized van
• Ability to work as a team member and to work independently 
• Good communication skills
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Able to lift small to medium packages in/out of a Van
• Undergo Working with Children and Police Criminal Records Checks

DESIRABLE
• Ability to plan a best route travel across the city
