Bicycle modifications

High resolution image

Purpose

To provide a stable, safe platform for a person with poor balance or trunk control, or a high level of anxiety, to ride a bicycle.

Special Note

Modifications to bikes are made to specifications detailed by staff from TADNSW’s Custom-Designed Aids Service at a direct assessment, which is usually done at a pre-booked clinic. This is the only basis on which TADNSW modifies bikes.

Options

  • stabiliser wheels (up to full adult capacity);
  • foot cups;
  • high riser bars;
  • wider seats;
  • pelvic and thoracic stabilisers;
  • positioning straps;
  • pull bars, with or without brake levers.
