What do you do with my donated computer equipment?
TADNSW relies on a steady flow of donated equipment to ensure that clients needs can always be met.
As a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher we are able to give your computer donations another life by refurbishing them and getting them ready for use by someone else. This program allows us to install Microsoft software licences to enable clients to have a fully operational computer. The refurbished computers are then sold for a minimal fee to our clients who are people with disabilities and those who are socially and financially disadvantaged.
Supplied with the computer is a two year support agreement which gives the client the reassurance that if anything goes wrong with their computer it will be repaired or replaced at not cost and also provides help desk support to clients during business hours. This service is unique to TADNSW. No other supplier of refurbished computers offers such extended warranty and help desk support. To find out more check out our Computer Packages.
Other ways we can use your donations
The cost of delivering this service substantially exceeds the revenue we receive from the sale of computers and we receive no government support for this service.
To raise the money to run this unique service, TADNSW also operates an eBay store where we sell equipment that is surplus to our current needs or unsuitable for clients.
We also operate a ewaste program where computer components are salvaged for recycling. We supply computer equipment to small community groups who approach TADNSW for assistance.
Examples are a recent donation to a school for deaf children in Vietnam, a womens refuge on the Central Coast and many others. In this way 85% of equipment that is donated by you to TADNSW is refurbished, recycled or reused to benefit those less fortunate.
